We first met Kristen and her daughter at Christmas time in 2022. Hope began to build as she reached out to The Salvation Army where she shared her story. Finding out she was pregnant, knowing that her family was in danger if she stayed, she found the strength to leave the abusive relationship she was in. Moving to Prince George, they found shelter at an amazing transition house in our City. Baby was born in 2023 and a space opened up in subsidized housing, which is where they are today.

Over the past 2 years, The Salvation Army helped support this family with food from the Food Bank, Christmas Hampers from Adopt a Family and the Christmas program as well as being present with her as she began to overcome many challenges from her past trauma. She is an amazing mom and is modeling to her daughter what strength and healthy living looks like.
