PRINCE GEORGE — Terik Parascak scored the only goal of the game in the Prince George Cougars’ 1-0 win over the Victoria Royals Saturday (Dec. 9) night, but the goal had even higher stakes.

Parascak’s breakaway goal six minutes into the third period of Teddy and Toque Toss night gave nearly 5,800 fans at CN Centre the green light to throw their stuffed animals and warm hats on the ice.

Joshua Ravensbergen also made 16 saves for his sixth shutout of the season.

The Cougars improved their record to 22-8-0-0 on the 2023-24 Western Hockey League (WHL) season, good for 44 points in 30 games. The Cougars are first overall in the WHL standings.

The Cougars begin a three-game road trip Wednesday (Dec. 13) against the Everett Silvertips. Their next home game is Wednesday, Dec. 27 when they welcome the Edmonton Oil Kings to CN Centre.
