The Salvation Army National Doughnut Day is celebrated on the first Friday of June to honor The Salvation Army “lassies” who served doughnuts to the soldiers during First World War.
Soon after the United States entered the First World War in 1917, The Salvation Army set up canteens/social centers that served baking goods, writing supplies and clothes mending services for soldiers.
Come on out and enjoy a donut at The Salvation Army on Ospika Blvd or at Canadian Tire from 9:00 am-2:00 pm. While quantities last.
